ModCGen series Oxygen VSA

Air contains 21% Oxygen and balance Nitrogen, Argon and other trace gases. The Nitrogen in air can be seperated out to produce a high purity stream of upto 95% Oxygen. These equipment are also known as Oxygen Concentrators Oxygen Generators.

In an Oxygen VSA (Vacum Swing Adsorption) or process, compressed feed air is fed into a vessel filled with molecular sieve. At this higher pressure, Nitrogen is selectively adsorbed on the molecular sieve and Oxygen passes through as product. When the pressure in vessel is reduced, the adsorbed Nitrogen is released and the molecular sieve is regenerated. In a PSA process, the pressure is reduced only to atmospheric level. In a VSA the pressure is reduced further down using a vacuum pump. This results in improved power efficiency. Multiple vessels and buffer vessels are used to produce a continuous supply of Oxygen. This stream usually has to be compressed to higher pressure to transport to the use point. All of ModCGen Oxygen plants include a product compressor as a standard option to compress the gas to upto 20 PSIG. Higher product pressures can be achieved by using an external product compressor.
