ModCGen series nitrogen pSA

Air contains 21% Oxygen and balance Nitrogen, Argon and other trace gases. Adsorptech's molecular sieve has greater capacity to adsorb Nitrogen than Oxygen. This affinity changes with pressure and temperature and can be used to produce a stream of upto 99% Nitrogen.

In an Nitrogen PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) or process, compressed feed air is fed into a vessel filled with molecular sieve. At this higher pressure, Nitrogen is selectively adsorbed on the molecular sieve and Oxygen passes through as product. When the pressure in vessel is reduced, the adsorbed Nitrogen is released and the molecular sieve is regenerated. Multiple vessels and buffer vessels are used to produce a continuous supply of Nitrogen. This stream usually has to be compressed to higher pressure to transport to the use point. All of ModCGen Nitrogen plants include a product compressor as a standard option to compress the gas to upto 100 PSIG. Higher product pressures can be achieved by using an external product compressor.
